We’re Merging — And Just Getting Started

Big Sky Senior Services and the Adult Resource Alliance of Yellowstone County have officially joined forces to form one unified organization: Allies in Aging.

​

This strategic merger brings together nearly a century of combined experience in serving older adults. Initiated by both boards as a proactive response to the growing needs of our community, this partnership ensures that as Yellowstone County’s senior population expands, we are ready—with more resources, greater expertise, and a deeper commitment than ever before.

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, staff and board members from both organizations gathered to witness the official signing of the merger agreement. With champagne, cake, and heartfelt words from leadership, we celebrated this bold new chapter in senior services for our region.

​

“Big Sky Senior Services has long been committed to helping seniors remain independent in their own homes,” said Tyler Amundson, Executive Director of Big Sky Senior Services. “By joining forces with the Adult Resource Alliance, we are ensuring that mission continues and expands. Together, we can take bold steps to meet the needs of our growing senior population in new and innovative ways.”

“This merger brings together our combined 98-year legacy of service,” said Erika Purington, CEO of the new combined organization, “As the Adult Resource Alliance celebrates 50 years, this partnership enhances and expands the support available to seniors and caregivers across Yellowstone County. We’re building a stronger, more comprehensive foundation for the future.”

All current programs and services will continue without interruption. Community members should continue connecting to services through the same channels they always have. Both leadership teams remain in place and are working closely to ensure a smooth transition.
